Dun
The dun coat color reminds you of the horse Spirit, from the movie "Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron". The dun coat color can be in three different shades- yellow dun, red dun, and mouse grey.
Grey
Who doesn't love a grey horse? There are four different shades of the grey coat color- grey, dapple grey, flea bitten, and rose grey.
Basic Colors
There is a basic category in the horse coat color wheel. This basic category has a large variety of coat colors- bay, chesntut, blood bay, dark bay, black bay, liver chestnut, sabino, tobiano, splash white, and frame overo.
Bright Colors
The bright color category consists of palomino, cremello, buckskin dun, and perlino.
Champagne Colors
Only a few coat colors are in this category- the classic, gold, amber, and white.
Patterns
You may see horses such as Appaloosa's have a certain pattern. The pattern can either be a blanket/rug or leopard.
Roan
The roan category has three different shades- bay roan, red roan, and blue roan.
