Capturing Christmas Photos of your Horse

Updated: Jul 11, 2023

During this season, we like to send Christmas cards to our friends and family. You usually take a family photo all dressed up and may have a Santa or elf hat on. What about your horse though? Here are a few ideas for capturing a Christmas photo of your horse!

One Ear Santa Hat

For horses that do not like their ears being touched, then a one-ear Santa hat might work. There are many options for Santa hats made for horses, or you can use a regular hat.

Christmas Wreath

If you rather not put a hat on your horse, then a simple wreath with a bow would be perfect. I did this with my horse one year, and I think she prefers this rather than a hat! You can have professional photos taken, or just do some natural outside photos.

Elf Hat

If you want to do something different besides the traditional Santa hat, then you could use an elf hat! I did this with my horse, and the elf hat I used for her was from a dog costume. Just make sure that the hat has a way to stay on your horse's head.

Red Bows in the Mane

A simple look for your horse would be to add red bows in your horse’s mane. This makes your horse look like a present! You could even add some in the tail.

Not sure how to dress up your horse? There are many ideas not only here, but all over the internet! Get creative, and your Christmas photos will be great!
