Why I use Hay Chix Nets for my Horse

Updated: Feb 26

Horse owners use hay nets for various reasons including reduced hay waste, maximized eating time, and easier feeding. There are many options for hay nets that you can purchase, but what is the best hay net for your money? After all, we are trying to save time and money when feeding our horses!

When I first brought my horse home, I bought a cheap hay net off of Amazon. It's just a hay net, right? So I thought, but later realized the quality was what you paid for. I was constantly having to replace hay nets because my horse was tearing them and creating more holes in them. These cheaper nets I was using were not a gentle material, they were stiff and almost felt like a plastic material! After researching hay nets, I realized that there was a better option out there... and that was Hay Chix nets.

Let me remind you that the hay net I was purchasing off of Amazon was only around $17, but I was having to purchase multiple of those to make it through hay season. Hay Chix nets were on the more expensive side, the common net being around $37. However, from research it proves that they last longer than other nets. This is because of the quality and durability of the material. What I also loved about Hay Chix nets are that they are made in the USA.

After doing research, reading reviews, and looking at product videos and photos, it didn't take long to convince me to try one of their nets. When my first Hay Chix net arrived, I instantly fell in love with how the material of the net felt in my hands. It was so much softer and more flexible than the other net I had previously been using. Not only was the material more gentle for my horse's teeth, but the quality seemed so much better. From what research I had done, some horse owners use their Hay Chix net for 5 years or more before needing replacing.

What I also love about Hay Chix nets are that they have so many options, from customizing the mesh opening size to the amount of hay you would like it to hold. Hay Chix nets are so easy to use, the hoggle feature on the end of the net makes it easy to open and close. Looking back, I don't regret spending more money to get a higher quality net. I will never use another hay net again after discovering Hay Chix nets.
